I've done exchange student programs...fun times... My host family in Japan was really nice... the Irish family was okay...
My ex-boyfriend was in Sweden when he got locked in the bathroom while taking a shower when no one was home on a snowy morning. So he had to climb out the window into the garden, wearing nothing but the pajama pants he'd brought into the bathroom and a towel wrapped around his shoulders for warmth...just as his host family pulled up in their vehicle. He didn't know the language enough to explain what had happened...

@twigg: You think 103 at camp is bad? I had to do physical labor a couple years ago as a summer job in 110 DEGREE WEATHER. I live in Alabama, it was one of the hottest summers in recent years, and it SUCKED.
Right now, though, it's in the forties or fifties, windy, and is going to rain any minute. My favorite kind of weather.

*smiles* Well, here up Northeast is mostly cold... or chilly. It was 70 degrees when I left home for camp in Penn. And right now, it's freezing. December, my favorite month (I feel sorry for you, then!)

Yeah, me too. Except it didn't really cover the roads or anything. No snow, but snowing.

He obviously goes by celsius, twigg. It wasn't as cold as what you guys seem to have had it, but it HAS been below freezing all day. We got some cold water in German and splashed it on the window to watch it freeze ;D
